The 2016 College Football season came to an impressive halt, but for some players there’s still work to do. Here are the top five seniors returning in 2017.

College Football is a high pressure atmosphere. With just 13 games in a season, players have a short amount of time to prove their worth. Given the current landscape, the College Football Playoff is the main goal for most players as they look to showcase what they can do possibly at the next level.

The college football offseason has seen a lot of the top-rated players returning to school as a result of the current landscape. When players have underwhelming seasons, albeit in the stat or the win column, returning for their senior year shows they are wising up when it comes to staying in school versus leaving early.

Granted, there are a lot of underclassmen entering the 2017 NFL Draft early. Many top teams return some top senior players next season. The Georgia Bulldogs return defensive back Dominick Sanders and running back Sony Michel, among others. The Washington State Cougars return a top offensive guard in Cody O’Connell to go along with their gun-slinging quarterback. Oklahoma State returns two top offensive players in quarterback Mason Rudolph and receiver James Washington.

Entering the 2017 season, here are some of the top seniors to watch as players look to improve their NFL Draft stock and then some.
