The 2017 NFL Combine is here as players get to showcase their skills in different ways. Here are 10 players to watch from the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The 2017 NFL Combine is upon us, beginning March 3 and running through March 6. With a lot on the line, the athletes invited will have the opportunity to impress scouts and either raise their draft stock or solidify it.
ACC Football saw its fair share of accolades in 2016 to get to this year’s NFL Combine. The Clemson Tigers avenged their 2015 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, winning the College Football National Championship in 2016. As a result, the ACC saw an uptick in the number of players eligible in this year’s NFL Draft Combine.
The ACC had a total of 60 players invited to the NFL Combine, second-most out of the Power 5 Conferences. Clemson and Miami had the most players invited with nine players each as well.
This year’s combine is chock full of talent at multiple positions. Running back James Conner will attend this year’s event after defeating stage-2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma in 2015. After missing the 2015 season, Conner returned in 2016 to rush for 1,092 yards and 16 touchdowns. Today, he remains cancer-free heading into the NFL Draft Combine.
Conner is just one of the success stories in this year’s combine. Another is Clemson wide receiver Mike Williams. He returned successfully this season after suffering a season-ending neck injury in 2015. Williams is just one of many other players to watch in this year’s combine.
