2017 NFL Combine: 10 Players to watch from the ACC
8. QB Brad Kaaya, Miami
The Miami Hurricanes may have found their guy in head coach Mark Richt. Under Richt, quarterback Brad Kaaya had a stellar junior season.
Kaaya threw for a career-high 3,532 passing yards and 27 passing touchdowns in 2016. He did throw seven interceptions on the season but he didn’t throw one in the Hurricanes’ final three games. He completed 62.0 percent of his passes, sixth-best in the ACC. His passing yards were good for fifth in the ACC as well.
Kaaya turned a corner in 2016. He threw for four passing touchdowns in four games and threw for a touchdown pass in all but three games last season. With four games of 300 yards passing or more, Kaaya threw passes for a pass completion percentage of 67.3 percent. His accuracy and decision-making definitely got better under Coach Richt and his new staff.
However, Kaaya will still need to show he handle pressure situations to be an NFL Quarterback. NFL Analyst Mike Mayock considers him a developmental prospect.
