2017 NFL Combine: 10 Players to watch from the ACC
3. RB Wayne Gallman, Clemson
Running back Wayne Gallman had a down year in his junior season, but it’s hard to consider 1,133 rushing yards a down season. In 2015, Gallman ran for 1,515 rushing yards. In 2016, he ran for less yardage but he scored more rushing touchdowns with 17.
Gallman was one of the Clemson Tigers more reliable players in his time in his time in Death Valley. He had eight games in 2015 where he ran for 100 rushing yards or more. In 2016, he had five games with at least 100 rushing yards. He had a rushing touchdown in all but two of the team’s 15 games last season.
Gallman is a reliable running back with all the intangibles. Last season, he ran for a touchdown in all but two games for Clemson in 2016. He was fourth in the ACC in rushing yards and fifth in rushing touchdowns last season. He ran for a career-high 191 rushing yards in 2014 against South Carolina in a 35-17 victory.
In the NFL Combine, Gallman won’t wow scouts with his speed, but he should impress with his other abilities. He has the tools to be successful if put in the right situation.
