Michigan State football unveiled an “all-white everything” alternate uniform on Wednesday, and it’s getting rave reviews.

Mark Dantonio and Michigan State had been waiting for some sort of good news after a tumultuous offseason. On Wednesday, that came in the form of new jerseys, including the first-ever white helmet to be worn by the Spartans.

While it may not seem like “great news”, it’s something to take the players’, fans’ and coaches’ minds off the horrid offseason involving sexual assault cases and transfers. Moreover, this new alternate is drawing positive attention to the university, for the first time in a while, and it’s getting rave reviews.

Michigan State has already done the all-green look, and it worked out in the Spartans’ favor, and now the “all-white everything” uniform is taking center stage.

Just check out the crisp new look that the program posted on Twitter:

Michigan State will suit up in this “all-white everything” look on Sept. 9 against Western Michigan at Spartan Stadium. The look is especially loved by Spartan fans because they have been pining for white helmets ever since the program announced it would have a bronze helmet alternate a few years back.

Not all fans will love the look since there are always older alumni who love tradition and who don’t believe the helmet should be any color other than green — even alternates.
