Georgia football is looking for a big year from their starting quarterback Jacob Eason. He’s preparing for the season and having some fun at the same time.

We’ve learned a few things this offseason: Isaac Nauta can catch and Jacob Eason has an accurate arm. The Bulldog tight end caught a pass one handed while riding a jet ski. It might not count for any points on the football field, but it certainly had the wow factor.

Eason is coming off a freshman season in which he passed for 2,430 yards, 16 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Contrary to what his jet ski video might lead some to believe, he had a below average completion percentage, ranking 10th out of 15 qualified passes in the SEC. Maybe he’d have an improved 2017 campaign they played the game in a swimming pool?

The pass catcher in the video was fellow sophomore Isaac Nauta. The 6-foot, 4-inch Nautu was one of Eason’s favorite targets last year. He hauled in 29 passes for 361 yards and three touchdowns. Nauta ranked third on team in catches, third in receiving yards and second in receiving touchdowns. This might have been his best catch yet.

It wasn’t exactly a jaw-dropping year from the Bulldog passing attack. Eason wasn’t bad per-se, but the offense was limited. With one more year in the system there is hope he’ll take the next steps and continue to improve as a passer.

Georgia opens their 2017 season against Appalachian State before heading North to take on Notre Dame. Eason looks to be having a fun summer, but he’d better make sure he’s getting reps on the field as well as on the water.
