Despite snowy conditions, Washington State’s Drew Bledsoe threw for 259 yards and two touchdowns. On the other side, Washington’s Mark Brunell, despite improvising while rushing for two touchdowns, struggled while in the pocket. He went just 11-of-26. He threw for 122 yards.

While the Cougars trailed 7-6 at halftime, the team scored 29 points in the third quarter as snow continued to accumulate at Martin Stadium.
The No. 5-ranked Huskies had already secured a spot in the Rose Bowl, but the Cougars’ victory ensured the team a trip to the Copper Bowl.
One of the most memorable plays of the game was when Bledsoe threw the ball over the middle of the end zone where a snowbank was piled up. C.J. Davis stretched out for the ball and came out with nothing — because teammate Philip Bobo caught the pass for a 44-yard touchdown.
Washington State’s Shaumbe Wright-Fair made snow angels in the end zone after his final touchdown of the game.
