The 2017 college football season is fast approaching and it’s time to look at the five teams that most fans would enjoy most to watch lose this year.

There’s some programs in college football that are consistently hated outside of their own fan base. Most of those teams are either consistently good or have a deep rooted tradition that other fan bases cannot stand.

It’s hard to hate teams like the Kansas Jayhawks, Purdue Boilermakers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, Virginia Cavaliers, etc. that come up short of bowl eligibility it seems like every single year. Some teams you just forget about during the college football season because they never present much of a challenge to your favorite team. Maybe you’re a fan of one of the less competitive programs in college football and you’re happy with each win your team manages each season.

The blue blood programs are among the nation’s most hated teams because of the deep rooted rivalries, past success, and annoying habits that their fans have formed. Yet, some teams like the Oregon Ducks, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Kansas State Wildcats, Washington Huskies, and Clemson Tigers rose to prominence very quickly and do not have large tenured fan bases. Those teams are easy to dislike as well.

Most of all, the biggest qualifier for a team to be on this list is the arrogance of its players, coaches, and fan base overall. There’s nothing better than watching a team like Alabama lose in the National Title Game to Clemson and see Nick Saban actually not win a National Championship this time.

Now, let’s take a look at the five college football teams we all love to see lose.
