College Football: Top 5 RBs most likely to win 2017 Heisman Trophy
Ohio State’s Mike Weber got off to a great start in 2016. However, the same cannot be said for the way he finished the season. In three of the first four games of the season, Weber got well over the 100-yard mark. Against Rutgers, Weber rushed for 144 yards and a touchdown while averaging 10.3 yards per carry.
Working with a quarterback like senior J.T. Barrett, the sky’s the limit for Weber. He’ll have so much room to work with considering the dual threat ability that Barrett possesses. There’s also very few other running backs competing for carries with Weber.
Only freshman running back J.K. Dobbins looks like a threat to challenge Weber for any real number of carries. Unlike some of the other running backs at the top of the Heisman odds list, Weber controls his own destiny.
Other running backs like Nick Chubb and Bo Scarbrough have the disadvantage of sharing carries with other top shelf rushers.
