Colorado Football: Rising sophomore CB Anthony Julmisse suspended
Colorado football reported for fall camp on Friday, but rising sophomore Anthony Julmisse was absent as he was suspended indefinitely.
Timing is a crazy thing. On the night before rising sophomore cornerback Anthony Julmisse was supposed to report to fall camp for Colorado football, he was arrested.
According to bsndenver.com, Julmisse was charged with third-degree assault, two counts of harassment and one count of domestic violence. The details of the alleged incident have yet to be released, but head coach Mike MacIntyre didn’t waste any time, rightfully so, in suspending the sophomore indefinitely.
It’s unfortunate that these incidents take place and although he’s innocent until proven guilty, he shouldn’t have put himself in that position, especially on the eve of fall camp.
Julmisse is a talented cornerback who was expected to start for the Buffaloes this fall. There had been plenty of hype surrounding his rise up the depth chart and there’s a good chance he may either miss some time, at the least, or he could be looking for a new school.
Again, we don’t know the details of the incident, rather just what he was charged with.
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native wasn’t the most highly-recruited player in the team’s 2016 class, but he got a chance to play right away under MacIntyre. He recorded eight total tackles, an interception and a fumble recover on defense last season along with a rush for 10 yards and 18 kick returns for over 400 yards.

The Buffaloes will have to replace a major talent in the return game as well as on the defensive side of the ball. He is being held without bond until his court appearance on Friday afternoon.
