Kenny Hill had some great performances with TCU in 2016. However, head coach Gary Patterson and the Horned Frogs have higher expectations than six win seasons like they had last year. Hill’s turnover-prone play cost the Frogs on many occasions. The leash for Hill will not be as long in 2017 as it was in 2016.

Hill’s numbers saw a huge drop in 2016 after his sophomore season at Texas A&M in 2014 where he threw 23 touchdowns and only eight interceptions. Getting that Hill back to that kind of play would put TCU back on the map among national contenders. That would also help Hill keep his starting job for the entire season.

The Big 12 has quite a few talented quarterbacks and high-powered offenses. The Frogs cannot afford to turn the ball over at the same rate they did in 2016. If the do, they’ll lose chances to win games against teams like the Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Baylor Bears, and Texas Tech Red Raiders, who all have the ability to put up points in bunches.

As one of the most experience quarterbacks on this list, Hill knows what it takes to succeed at the Power Five conference level of competition and what he’ll have to do to keep his job.
