Week 13: Alabama at Auburn

Honorable Mention:

  • Ohio State at Michigan
  • West Virginia at Oklahoma
  • Washington State at Washington

Ah, yes, rivalry week. Nothing better. Except when you are trying to decide which game is best and most deserving to be featured on national television.

Ohio State and Michigan got the honors last season and did not disappoint, showcasing a controversial fourth down call that granted J.T. Barrett and the Buckeyes a first down and another shot to win it in overtime, which they did.

This year, we could see Gameday heading back to the Iron Bowl. With Alabama being Alabama and Auburn being much improved from a year ago, another instant classic could be on the horizon and a trip to the SEC Championship and College Football Playoff on the line.

And we all remember what happened last time College GameDay went to Auburn for the Iron Bowl, right?

The Crimson Tide have won seven out of the last ten against the Tigers, with all but one of those victories coming in double digits, yet something tells us that this year could be different.

Alabama won the last College GameDay meeting between the two back in 2014 by a score of 55-44 in Tuscaloosa. They currently lead the all-time series 55-45.

Before last year’s championship loss to Clemson, the Crimson Tide had won their last eight College GameDay appearances.
