5. Small chance of defeating SEC West

The SEC West’s domination over the conference continued in 2016. With Alabama’s dominating 38-point victory over Florida in the SEC Title Game, the SEC West claimed the conference crown for the eighth consecutive year. Georgia was defeating on two of those eight occasions.

Another trend that does not look good for the Dawgs is the pattern of SEC Champions. Dating back six seasons, the winner of the division has claimed back-to-back titles. First, Georgia won the division in 2011 and 2012. Then, the Missouri Tigers won the division in 2013 and 2014. Lastly, Florida won the division in 2015 and 2016.

Maybe it could be the South Carolina Gamecocks or Tennessee Volunteers that take home the next two division titles. South Carolina quarterback Jake Bentley has the ability to lead the Gamecocks to the next level in 2017.

Yet, Georgia and Florida are the clear favorites to win the SEC East in 2017. Whichever teams takes home the division title will likely either have to face Alabama, Auburn, or LSU, none of which would be an easy win.
