1. Inability to win close games

What cost the Dawgs in 2016 could cost them once again in 2017 if they aren’t able to come through during clutch time. Four of Georgia’s five losses last year came by less than a touchdown and all were games where Georgia choked away a lead at one point or another.

Whether you look at the last second touchdown given up to Tennessee on the Joshua Dobbs hail’mary to Jauan Jennings, the one-point loss to Vanderbilt, or the other one-point loss to bitter in-state rival Georgia Tech, quite a few of Georgia’s losses had to sting for their fans. It’s an easy fix but some teams just don’t seem to have the clutch gene.

Georgia is likely to be favored against most conference and/or division opponents this season. However, the SEC East could end up sending five of its seven members to bowl games this year as well. Most teams on the schedule will be quality opponents for Georgia to face. The Appalachian State Mountaineers and Notre Dame Fighting Irish present tough out of conference tests as well.

The spotlight on Georgia will be bright again in 2017 and they’ll have plenty of pressure on them to live up to expectations.
