How soon could Texas A&M football fans see their former superstar quarterback Johnny Manziel on the sideline in College Station?

The Texas A&M Aggies had the privilege of seeing one of the most polarizing college football players of all time in College Station. Former Aggie quarterback Johnny Manziel said, today, that if he cannot make another run at an NFL career that he wants to coach college football, according to Bleacher Report.

Seeing Manziel back in the college ranks would bring some excitement for whatever team would decide to add him onto their coaching staff. He was quoted today saying that he would love to return to have some effect on college football if that’s the best route left for him.

“I’d do something involved with sports. I can’t get away from it,” Manziel said at the International Football Betting Conference, per ESPN.com.

This was not the only thing that Manziel was in the news for today. According to TMZ, Manziel is pulling for former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick as he tries to find his way with another NFL team after a rough going the last few seasons. Kaepernick has not had too much luck finding another squad interesting in his services for the 2017 NFL season.

The Dallas Morning News reported recently that Manziel has been actively trying to make an NFL comeback and has talked with a few teams. However, since his failed stint with the Cleveland Browns there has not been much interest in him.

It seems like Manziel cannot stay out of the news for more than just a couple months at a time. He continually finds himself in the thick of comeback stories and headlines for what NFL team might take a chance on him now. Yet, the headlines do die out more and more as the years go along.

Numerous Texas A&M fans would be excited by seeing Manziel return to College Station full time. There has not been any confirmation of talks between Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin and Manziel. That might be something to look out for the near future.

Manziel was very active on Twitter during his tenure at Texas A&M. Yet, he has not been Tweeting very much of late. His most recent post that was actively retweeted came back in March, stating that he found happiness for the first time in a long time.

Aggie fans should be extremely excited at the thought of Manziel returning to the college ranks for the first time since he departed College Station for the NFL. However, it’s hard to picture any team taking a chance at adding such a controversial figure to their coaching staff anytime soon without Manziel proving that he can control himself for an extended period of time.
