The top two running backs in college football are clear cut right now. Penn State’s Saquon Barkley and LSU’s Derrius Guice are two of the best running backs and game changers in the entire country.

Barkley notched a whopping 1,898 total yards and 22 touchdowns last season. He is a versatile back as he is a huge threat when handed the ball and thrown to. With Penn State quarterback Trace McSorley in the backfield as well, it’s hard to opposing defenses to focus on Barkley only. That would open things up for Barkley to have an even better stat line in 2017.

There’s not only a fight for the Nittany Lions to make the College Football Playoff, but also for Barkley to boost his draft stock. Barkley projects as an early first round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, but the stock of running backs can change very quick.

Barkley is one of the slipperiest players in the nation and he’ll continue to be a burden for opposing defenses to take down in 2017.
