The amount of carries that LSU running back Derrius Guice is guaranteed to get almost every single game immediately boosts his Fantasy Football stock. Guice would be a tempting option for any team owner to take No. 1 overall.

He lived in the shadow of former LSU superstar RB Leonard Fournette for the first year and a half of his career. Yet, when Fournette’s injuries started to rack up and he decided to sit out the rest of the 2016 college football season, Guice finally got his chance to shine.

Even with a heavy workload to finish off the 2016 campaign, Guice still averaged an impressive 7.8 yards per carry. Guice’s 285 yard rushing and four touchdown performance against the Texas A&M Aggies proves how much of a weapon he is and how quickly he can go off any given week.

Guice is an absolute handful to tackle and usually gets past the first two defenders attempting to do so. With first year offensive coordinator Matt Canada looking to be more successful than his predecessor Cam Cameron, he’ll first look to Guice to carry the bulk of the load.
