Ole Miss gets a break from SEC play to battle the Ragin’ Cajuns or UL-Lafayette in their tenth game of the season. The last time these two teams played was in 2014, a game in which Ole Miss won handily, 56-15.

I would expect more of the same in this years contest. Ole Miss is just far and away more talented than ULL. I’d expect to see Ole Miss let the starters play into the third quarter and then rest them for the rest of the game. No disrespect to ULL, they have a great and solid, consistent program but Ole Miss is just on a different level.

This should be another game where Shea Patterson pads the stats but would also provide fans with a good look at the backup quarterback, Jordan Ta’amu. The game also gives the defense a bit of a break in which they can sort of relax and conserve some energy for the final two SEC games of the year. With that said i’d still expect coach McGriff to get everything out of his group of defensive players and keep them to the same standard he has for SEC games.

But if the defense hasn’t matured in the way that many believe they should have by this point in the season, then this game falls at an opportune moment for the Rebels to be able to take their foot of the brake to some degree.

Again, I just don’t see a way in which Ole Miss doesn’t win this game.

Final: Ole Miss 56, ULL 20 (7-3, 4-3 SEC)
