Wide Receivers

Starting receivers: Jauan Jennings, Tyler Byrd, Marquez Callaway
Backups: Jeff George, Josh Smith, Brandon Johnson

Leading receiver Josh Malone is gone from the receiving corps, leaving the unit searching for answers. Who will be the go-to guy in 2017? The clearest answer has to be Jauan Jennings. The junior receiver is the only returning starter to the corps and he finished second on the team with 40 catches for 580 yards and seven touchdowns last year.

Moreover, he has risen to the occasion in big moments — such as the game-winning Hail Mary catch against Georgia.

Tyler Byrd and Marquez Callaway, both sophomore, look to build on strong offseason. Byrd had a nice freshman year with 15 catches for 209 yards while Callaway was quiet, recording just one reception. Both have potential to break out.

Seniors Jeff George and Josh Smith look to be in the receiver rotation while sophomore Brandon Johnson could push for major snaps as well.

Starting tight end: Ethan Wolf
Backup: Jakob Johnson

The tight end position got used plenty last season as then-junior Ethan Wolf was fourth on the team with 22 catches for 247 yards and two touchdowns. Whoever starts at quarterback this season knows he will have a solid tight end returning. Jakob Johnson returns after catching just two passes for 10 yards last year.
