UCLA Football: NFL scouts say Josh Rosen has “uncoachable” personality
UCLA football’s Josh Rosen might be one of the best quarterbacks in college football, but NFL scouts say he might be “uncoachable”.
Entering the college ranks a couple of years ago as a blue-chip quarterback recruit, UCLA football’s Josh Rosen seemed to have everything it took to be a star. He would be playing college ball in Los Angeles and he looked to be the All-American kid.

Since he’s been the starter for the Bruins, though, he’s been drawing attention to himself, and not all of it has been positive. He’s been an outspoken athlete and recently stated that college football and athletics don’t mix. He says that it doesn’t allow an adequate amount of time for schooling.
Moreover, he’s being looked at harshly by NFL scouts.
According to Bleacher Report‘s Matt Miller, some coaches, scouts and teammates believe that Rosen’s personality is “uncoachable” at the college and NFL levels.
"Scouts, coaches and teammates have also told me of his personality, which can come across as “uncoachable, smarter than all of us and a prick.”"
Thinking back to recent memory, there was another quarterback who had this kind of negative attention from the media and it wound up hurting his draft stock. Connor Cook of Michigan State was a first-round talent in 2016, but fell to the fourth because he was “uncoachable” and scouts didn’t like his personality.
Could Rosen experience the same type of drop if he declares for the NFL draft following his junior season? It’s very possible.
