Syracuse Orange

2006 impact player: Damien Rhodes, HB #1, 89 overall
Today: QB Eric Dungey

Damien Rhodes had a good but not great career in up-state New York. He never eclipsed 1,000 yards, but scored 24 touchdowns on bad Orange teams. How the mighty had fallen from Donovan McNabb’s run in the late 1990s. Syracuse has never been the same.

Syracuse isn’t in a position to unseat Clemson or Florida State but it can score a lot of points behind quarterback Eric Dungey.

Dungey threw for over 2,600 yards and 15 touchdowns and ran for another six touchdowns in 2016. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound three-year starter will thrive in Dino Babers’ air-raid offense. Dungey could steal second-team All-ACC honors at quarterback from Florida State’s Deondre Francois if the Orange can steal an upset.
