4. Lavert Hill, David Long lock down the cornerback position

Complete turnover in the secondary means tough adjustments for the Michigan defense. The corner position lost both starters from 2016, including star Jourdan Lewis. Freshmen Lavert Hill and David Long now take over.

Junior Brandon Watson could see some game action. Both Hill and Long were at least four-star talents that are the future at the cornerback position for Michigan. Might as well give Hill and Long the chance to prove their worth.

The Big Ten is not known for its high-flying passing attacks. Young corners in the conference can take time to adjust to the college pace. Even Florida does not have a good passing attack. Hill and Long need to be ready for teams like Penn State and Ohio State.

Expect the young defensive back duo to pick off opposing quarterbacks more than five times in this year.
