2. Austin Allen makes an All-SEC team

Although the SEC isn’t known for its elite passers, there are plenty of reliable quarterbacks scattered throughout the conference. For example, Alabama has Jalen Hurts, Auburn has Jarrett Stidham, Georgia has Jacob Eason, South Carolina has Jake Bentley and Mississippi State fields Nick Fitzgerald.

The talent at the quarterback position is seemingly endless and getting better with each passing year. Not only can these guys sling the ball around the field, but most of them have the ability to tuck and run with the ball, too.

That leaves a guy like Austin Allen in the dust. However, that shouldn’t be the case. Just because Allen isn’t a dual-threat quarterback doesn’t mean he’s void of talent and effectiveness. He was one of the top passers in the conference last season as a junior, breaking out for 3,430 yards and 25 touchdowns.

Allen did, however, have 15 interceptions, but he completed over 60 percent of his throws and looked like a changed QB. He’s going to make one of the three All-SEC teams this season with over 3,500 yards and 27 touchdowns with only 10 picks.
