It would be completely understandable for the Tigers to be looking ahead at the final week of the regular season if they make it to this game within reach of an SEC title. Coach Gus Malzahn will say all the right things. He’ll coach speak his way to making the media believe that they’re “taking it one game at a time” and they “won’t take anything for granted”. He’ll say the Warhawks are a “quality football team” that “has played really well this season.”

Don’t buy it. Don’t buy any of it.

ULM played two underclassmen quarterbacks last year and neither was all that effective. They combined to throw 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. The running game wasn’t very good either. Leading rusher Ben Luckett reached just 450 yards on 3.8 yards per carry. The Warhawks ended the season 4-8 with the No. 110 offense in the country. On the other side of the ball, they held their opponents to less than 30 points just three times all season.

Auburn is going to go out their and take care of business. They could roll out of bed on November 18 (after hitting the snooze button repeatedly) and wipe the floor with this Sun Belt squad. The Tigers will spend the entirety of this week of practice preparing for the all-important Iron Bowl against Alabama the following weekend.

Sure, they’ll put in a scheme or two that they want to practice (for the Alabama game), but the Tigers aren’t going to have any trouble with ULM. That sets up what could be an All-SEC play-in-game to reach the College Football Playoff.

Final: Louisiana Monroe 0, Auburn 49 (11-0, 8-0 SEC)
