The starting cornerback positions are wide open. Washington’s secondary was a strong point in year’s past. They’ll be looking for quick answers. Murphy and Miller are the projected starters but they’ll rotate some younger players in.

Elijah Molden was the third highest-rated recruit in Washington’s class. He’s impressed coaches in Fall Camp so far. If the projected starters do not perform as expected, Molden could get his shot to earn a starting spot early in the season.

At only 190 pounds, Molden is a smaller cornerback with the speed to keep up with most any receiver. He was one of the most underrated recruits in Washington’s 2017 class. Locking down some of the Pac-12’s better receivers would show Peterson and the coaching staff what Molden can do.

Competition is strong for the starting battle at cornerback. By the end of the 2017 season, Molden might have a spot set for himself for the rest of his college career.
