2. Belief in Ed Orgeron as head coach

As previously stated, Ed Orgeron is not for everyone. He’s a fiery, intense head coach who expects the best out of his players on each play. Heck, he’s what every coach should be, yet some players can’t handle his ways. He rubs people the wrong way and that has led to multiple transfers this offseason.

However, those guys who have stuck around believe in the new head coach. He has been just about everywhere in college football, coaching the likes of Ole Miss and USC, as interim and head coach, and now he’s getting one more chance to prove his worth.

Fortunately, the LSU players have seemed to embrace him, for the most part. At SEC Media Days, the guys chose to represent the Tigers had nothing but good things to say, and they even poked fun at the coach by mocking his demeanor. That’s the sign of a close-knit team.

Coach O can be hard to handle, at times, but he’s a guy who gets his players. He’s garnered respect at every stop he’s been and there were multiple players upset with the fact he was let go after an interim role at USC.

The first step of a successful team is buying into the head coach, and I believe these LSU players have done just that.
