Honorable Mention: Darude – Sandstorm

It’s not often that a techno-instrumental piece can find its way into the college football world, but Sandstorm certainly has in certain circles.

This one is such a polarizing song (unless you’re a South Carolina fan) that it just came up shy of making the top 50.

For some, it really does get the blood pumping and feet moving. For others, it tends to conjure up images of Jim Levenstein becoming a little too intimate with a chair in American Pie.  Credit to the Gamecocks for hanging on to this one for so long, but we’ll have to limit it to an honorable mention  on this list.
