Oregon State football faces Colorado State in the opening game of the 2017 season. We hit the film room to break down the offensive schemes of both teams.

Gary Anderson‘s Beavers staff and Mike Bobo‘s CSU staff return all of their coordinators for the 2017. The OSU offense is fun to watch and they start the pre-season ranked No. 54 in the S&P+ rankings. CSU starts the season ranked No. 43 which means they’re favorites to win the game.

What should we expect from Oregon State? A healthy dose of Ryan Nall, the Beavers’ star running back that’s built more like a traditional fullback. While OSU doesn’t have a great track record as of late this could be a resurgent year for the to 6-6 and bowl bound.

What should we expect from Colorado State? Mike Bobo is mixing traditional and modern much like his old mentor Mark Richt has done in Miami. You’ll get the pro style offense we think of from the old NFL and Madden series from EA Sports from the 90’s and early 00’s. But he’ll mix that with modern spread passing as well.

For those out there that love the X’s and O’s we’re going to take a deeper dive into the offensive schemes that each team will use each Saturday. We’ll start with Oregon State.
