1. Power Five Conferences take notice

It was not that long ago that Colorado State looked to make the move to the Big 12. The PAC-12 is not looking either to expand, but Colorado State looks to be a perfect fit. After all, they did just hand one of its members a resounding loss.

Oregon State is projected to finish at the bottom of the PAC-12 standings in 2017. However, Colorado State could compete against some middle of the road PAC-12 teams. Colorado gets a taste of the Rams next week.

It makes a lot of sense to add teams like Colorado State and Boise State to a Power Five Conference. It would be an interesting hypothetical to see what the PAC-12 would look like with the Broncos and Rams in a 16 team conference. The Big 12 could use a program like Colorado State right now too. If the Rams can keep this up they’ll make realignment conversations all the more interesting in the coming years.
