No. 5 – Trajan Brady, Defensive Back

Trajan Bandy joins the Hurricanes defensive backfield this season after deciding to stay close to home in Miami. Bandy was a consensus 4-star recruit out of Columbus High in Miami and chose the Canes despite offers from big time programs including Alabama.

The Hurricanes lost several players from the secondary to the NFL, including cornerbacks Corn Elder and Adrian Colbert. Defensive backs coach Mike Rumph, a Canes legend and NFL veteran likes what he sees from Bandy so far, commenting on his intensity.

"Trajan [Bandy], he could move his feet side to side. He’s a good smaller guy, and he’s aggressive for the size he is.”"

Listed at 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, Bandy is on the smaller side for defensive backs. He may be best utilized in the slot where he can take advantage of his aforementioned lateral quickness.

With a lot of newcomers in the secondary, Bandy can take advantage of the opportunity to get quality reps and has the talent to emerge as a starting defensive back this season.
