San Jose State is not to be taken lightly

The San Jose State Spartans are not a team be taken lightly. They forced two three-and-outs on the Bulls first two drives and had USF fans nervous in the early going.

They came out with all the intensity and before we knew it, they were up 16-0 before the first quarter was over with. San Jose was 7-of-21 on third down conversions and also had 18 first downs.

Brent Brennan has taken over as head coach after spending 2005-2010 as an assistant coach. He’s found something special with Spartans quarterback Josh Love. Love had 192 passing yards and two touchdown passes in the game, but he also threw three interceptions. The Bulls used two of those interceptions to break the game wide open and didn’t look back.

The Spartans have nothing to hang their head about though. Although they lost 42-22, they were still favored to lose by 21.5 points. They held the Bulls to 3-of-19 on third down conversions in the game.
