South Florida has to start games better

The South Florida Bulls were on upset alert early in this game. They found their mojo in the second quarter, putting up 28 points, but it can’t happen against tougher teams on the schedule.

Luckily for them, they don’t face the Houston Cougars until November 4. The Bulls hopefully worked out the kinks going forward. They scored 42 straight points before the San Jose State Spartans were able to respond in the fourth quarter.

The Bulls ended up with 548 total yards of offense, 315 of them were rushing yards. They had 29 first downs and went 3-for-3 on fourth downs. Turnovers saved the day for them in the long run, but they found their groove on offense too.

D’Ernest Johnson and Darius Tice stepped up for the Bulls, but they’ll need to have faster starts. Johnson had 22 carries for 99 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns. Tice finished up with 94 rushing yards on 20 carries.

Quarterback Quinton Flowers had 70 rushing yards and a touchdown as well.
