One of the bigger leaders from Michigan’s 2017 recruiting class is four-star defensive end Donovan Jeter. The Beaver Falls, Penn., native was once talked about as a prospect who may stay close to home to compete for starting jobs at Penn State or Pitt, but he committed to Notre Dame last September.

The commitment to the Fighting Irish came just two days after an official visit and he de-committed almost exactly a month later. Four days following the de-commitment, he took an official visit to Michigan and committed.

Jeter was one of the early enrollees in the 2017 class and has been impressing coaches ever since the start of winter. He’s been working hard to crack the two-deep depth chart this spring and summer and it looks like he will get an opportunity to compete early on.

Standing 6-foot-5 and 250 pounds, he has somewhat of a lean frame on the end and is strong enough to wreak havoc up front. He will be backing up Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich at the end spots and he could surprise some people with his effectiveness in the pass-rush.
