San Jose State almost pulled off a huge upset during the opening weekend. The Spartans faced the No. 19 South Florida Bulls and took a 16-point lead at one point. However, USF ended up getting the best of San Jose State by a 20-point margin.

Texas could get off to a slow start in their season opener against Maryland since they have some new personnel to break in. Yet, they should be go to go against San Jose State. USF had their way with the San Jose State front seven.

Running back Chris Warren III could easily rack up more than 100 yards and one touchdown on the ground. That would open things up for quarterback Shane Buechele to rip apart the Spartan secondary.

San Jose State is the easiest opponent on the non-conference slate for Texas, by a lot. Herman is sure to take advantage of this opportunity to build some early-season momentum. It could also be an easy stat line boost for Buechele and Warren III. Expect Texas to win big.
