SEC Football is back. We kick off this year’s edition of SEC power rankings before this weeks slate of games.

SEC teams are ready to kick off the 2017, after the Week 0 games from last weekend served to wet the appetites of college football fans. The first week brings the predictable type of matchups that should serve as easy wins for most teams. But week one is highlighted by two intriguing matchups between powerhouse programs. Alabama-Florida State and Florida-Michigan.

These matchups loom large for the entirety of the college football landscape. They serve as an impression on where the conference contending teams are headed. It also allows the SEC to test its mettle against ACC and Big Ten teams after Alabama was dethroned as king of college football by Clemson last season. Alabama will look to make up for their shortcomings in last years championship game with a win over the Seminoles.

Another intriguing game is the matchup between LSU and BYU. The game was moved to New Orleans from Houston due to the effects of Hurricane Harvey. What was once a neutral site game, is now essentially an LSU home game. It will be the season debut for Ed Orgeron to show what his offseason coaching and staff have produced.

Florida and Michigan will be interesting, although somewhat less due to suspensions by Florida to several of its players. Nevertheless, going up against the Wolverines will be a good test for the Gators. Should they win, it will help their CFP aspirations tremendously.

So how exactly does the conference shake out to start the season? Check out this weeks rankings below, beginning with No. 14.
