Arkansas football starts their 2017 campaign against FCS opponent Florida A&M in Week 1 before they take on the TCU Horned Frogs in Week 2.

Arkansas has one tough non-conference game. They have two that are easy. The easiest opponent is Florida A&M. The Razorbacks face TCU in Week 2. Florida A&M comes in Week 1. Their road to bowl eligibility starts easy.

Bret Bielema is on the hot seat. He can’t get Arkansas past seven wins. The Razorbacks found consistency, but winning six games every year is not the consistency they were hoping for. The SEC West is tough. Knocking off Alabama hasn’t been done recently. Arkansas’s chances aren’t favorable.

Eight wins is a big ask for Arkansas. To do that they need to clear the non-conference slate. Florida A&M, TCU and New Mexico State are not difficult. The Razorbacks beat TCU last year and TCU still has turnover prone Kenny Hill in the gun.

Florida A&M kicked off in Week 0. They dominated Texas Southern in the first game of the year. Arkansas is a whole other animal. It’s Florida A&M’s toughest match, and it could get ugly. Arkansas’s running game doesn’t let off. Running back Devwah Whaley takes over after Rawleigh Williams III had retired unexpectedly.

Senior transfer David Williams will get some work. Williams III’s retirement gives him a larger role. Williams could get 15 carries. It depends on Arkansas’s early lead. They’ll rely on Austin Allen to open up room.

Now, let’s take a look at three bold predictions for the the Razorbacks’ season opener against the Florida A&M Rattlers.
