No.  1 – Chase Hayden establishes himself as the backup running back

Two true freshmen compete will compete for carries in 2017. Either Chase Hayden and Maleek Williams could win the backup job. Whaley is a sophomore. David Williams is a senior. Hayden and Williams have the best futures, but all four could get touches.

The listed backup is David Williams. The South Carolina transfer could lose his job. Hayden and Williams are talented rushers. Bielema uses young running backs. Whaley is a sophomore and the clear starter, but he could leave for the NFL after 2018.

Six wins would be tough for Arkansas. They need depth. SEC West teams have talent at every position. Missouri, New Mexico State, Florida A&M and Coastal Carolina are guaranteed wins. Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State and South Carolina will all be tough outs.

Hayden has a long road to become starter. Solid effort against Florida A&M is a start. He could be next man up. Whaley is not there forever. Notching 75 yards rushing a touchdown is realistic. Hayden has the talent.
