Florida A&M University has a tough battle ahead of them tonight. They’ll be tasked with taking down an Arkansas team has is quite literally a Goliath compared. There is no comparison between the MEAC and the SEC, but the Rattlers didn’t do themselves any favors with their uniforms.
Yes, that’s right. Florida A&M was put into an early hole against Arkansas because they failed to wear appropriate attire. You’d think with how long a uniform takes to design and make someone would have raise a red flag before a yellow one was thrown on the field.
Here’s the outcome of their poor tailoring decision:
It’s not like Florida A&M decided to go camo and disguise who was on the field. They wore the white on white uniform combo (below) against the Razorbacks on Thursday night.
Rule 1-4.5-b, for those that want to dig into the details, states that all uniform numbers have to contrast with the color of the jersey. That precludes the use of similar colors for the jersey and the number itself, even if the borders make the number clearly visible.

Even with the handicap, Florida A&M has managed to hang with the Razorbacks through the first quarter. They trail the hogs by seven after Devwah Whaley punched in a goal line carry for the first Arkansas score of the year. A comeback will be hard enough without their penalties being burned for them. They’ll have their work cut out for them, but they’re not out of it yet.
