Thursday is College GameDay’s first time in Bloomington or even featuring a game the Hoosiers. However, Lee Corso is no stranger to Indiana. Corso coached in Bloomington from 1973 to 1982.
Corso was hired by Indiana after four seasons in Louisville. He turned the Cardinals into a 9-1 team his final season there and finished 28-11-3 with two conference titles. Louisville was still in the Missouri Valley Conference then. Indiana and the Big Ten was more of a struggle. In his first season at the helm, the Hoosiers went 2-9 and 0-8 in the Big Ten. However, Corso was able to build the program into a competent and competitive team in the same conference as Woody Hayes and Bo Schembechler. The height was the 1979 season. Indiana went 8-4 and won the Holiday Bowl.

Corso’s return to Indiana was emotional. During College GameDay, they had a reunion with his former playoffs and Corso was moved to tears. So it would seem a lock that he would pick Indiana, right? Well, Ohio State is a 20-point favorite, and Corso likes to be right. He also has chosen the Brutus head 23 times before tonight, including the first pick ever. What will win out head or heart?
Let’s go to the pick:
Ohio State made three appearances on College GameDay in 2016. They were 2-1 in those games. In all three games, Corso picked the Buckeyes as victors. The only loss came in the College Football Playoff Semi-Final game against Clemson.
