The Buckeyes kick off the 2017 season on the road against an Indiana team that is looking to pull off an early season stunner. ESPN FPI gives Ohio State a 95.7 percent chance of winning.
When you look at the numbers that winning percentage might not be high enough. Indiana hasn’t beaten Ohio State since 1988. Since that time they’ve held the Buckeyes under 21 points just once (1991) and still lost.
The popular Saturday morning program College GameDay is making the trip to Bloomington for a special production on Thursday night. They’ll do that in addition to a trip to Atlanta on Saturday where Alabama will take on Florida State.
What’s at stake?
The Buckeyes enter the game ranked No. 2 in the nation with College Football Playoff aspirations. They made it to college football’s final four last year but were shut out by Clemson, the eventual national champions. They need to stay undefeated for as long as possible with big matchups looking against Penn State and Michigan.
Indiana is try to earn their way to their third consecutive bowl appearance. They have a new head coach in Tom Allen. Beating the Buckeyes would be one of the marquee wins in program history.
