Virginia head coach Bronco Mendenhall looks to make some significant strides in his second-year with the program. He did not make many improvements in 2016 after coming over from the BYU Cougars. The Cavaliers did not compete in many games in the ACC.

William & Mary tends to be one of the better FCS programs. They could challenge UVA all the way. Virginia lost to the Richmond Spiders, another FCS team, to start off the 2016 campaign. The Tribe almost got the best of Virginia in 2015 as well.

It would not look good for the ACC to have one of its members lose to William & Mary. You wonder why the Hoos continue to schedule FCS teams if they cannot defeat them on a consistent basis. Another loss to a team like that could put Mendenhall on the hot seat.
