Week 1 of the 2017 college football season has come and passed and the top 10 teams in the country played well, for the most part.

Week 1 of college football is in the books for every top 10 college football team. Some teams played extremely well, while some others have left us confused about their long term potential.

Here are the grades for every top 10 team:

No. 10 Oklahoma State beat Tulsa 59-24

Offense: A
Defense: B+
Overall: A-

The Cowboys proved me right about picking them in my preseason top four teams. They have one of the most explosive offenses in the country. Oklahoma State passed and ran the ball proficiently. Quarterback Mason Rudolph only had four incompletions, threw for 300 yards, and three touchdowns.

Their amazing receiving core all had flashes of explosiveness. James Washington showed up big with six catches for 145 yards and two touchdowns. The running attack also came up big with 332 yards on the ground.

The Cowboys defense played well, but there is some room for improvement. The 432 yards they allowed does seem like a lot, but when you consider they ran 98 plays it not bad. To get an A the Cowboys defense would have see that 4.4 yards per play finish under four.

Overall, it was a great first game and solid performance on both sides of the ball by the Cowboys. Yes, I am very happy I picked them to win the national championship.
