2. Ohio State’s slow starts will cost them

If Ohio State continues to get off to slow starts, eventually they’ll not be able to make a huge comeback. They never got so far behind Indiana that the game got away. Mainly because their defense held strong for both halves.

This week, the Buckeyes host the No. 7 Oklahoma Sooners in Columbus. Getting off to a slow start against Baker Mayfield will not end up going very well. Moreover, Oklahoma is sure to have a high-level of motivation following their 45-24 defeat last year.

Even teams like the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Maryland Terrapins proved to be tough outs in Week 1. Rutgers hung with No. 8 Washington for most of the game. And, Maryland upset No. 23 Texas with a 51-41 victory.

The Big 10 is a tough conference to play in this year. A team with not only College Football Playoff, but National Championship aspirations needs to get it together starting in Week 2. Ohio State cannot afford to lose to a middle tier Big 10 team in the regular season.
