1. Josh Rosen is the early Heisman favorite

What. A. Comeback. Josh Rosen made what some would call a miracle look easy. The junior gunslinger had a long offseason, wondering about how well his return to the field after an injury would go. Well, it was off to a rocky start.

In fact, it had some people wondering, “What’s wrong with Josh Rosen?”

Then, the second half began and he realized his skill set might just be the best of any quarterback in college football. Despite being soaked in controversial statements this offseason, the potential No. 1 draft pick also worked on his mechanics behind the scenes. Although it wasn’t obviously early on, he eventually looked better than he had in his previous two seasons with UCLA.

Rosen was exuding confidence late and finished with a 34-point comeback victory and 491 passing yards and four touchdowns. Bruin fans were arguing that he jumped out to the early lead in the Heisman Trophy race. Not so fast.

It’s Week 1 and everyone is still shaking off the rust. While Rosen may have had the best performance of the week, he still has a lot more to prove than guys like Lamar Jackson, Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold. It’s going to take much more than one win.
