ACC Football Power Rankings 2017: Week 2 edition
The ACC football power rankings for Week 2 are in, see where each team stands as the 2017 college football season is off and starting.
The college football season started off with a bang this past weekend as teams are finally able to get on the field and show what they can do. The ACC went to a 10-4 record in the opening week, with three of the four losses coming in close matchups.
Florida State played defensive juggernaut Alabama, so the Seminoles’ 24-7 loss isn’t viewed so negatively, but they do have to deal with an injury to quarterback Deondre Francois.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets fell 42-41 in double-overtime to the Tennessee Volunteers, going for two after scoring in the second overtime and losing in the process. Despite outplaying the Volunteers, head coach Paul Johnson‘s late call lost Georgia Tech their first game.
The team to watch this week is the Duke Blue Devils. The Blue Devils put up 70 points, albeit against North Carolina Central but they also held them to just seven points as well.
The disappointing team of the week was the North Carolina Tar Heels. They lost 35-30 to the California Golden Bears despite being favored in the game. The Tar Heels are where we start this week’s ACC power rankings. The Tar Heels seem to be in the process of a rebuild, on both sides of the ball.
