Notre Dame Football: 5 reasons Fighting Irish will beat Georgia
3. Josh Adams and Notre Dame’s rushing attack
Notre Dame’s run game was borderline unbelievable in the opener. Josh Adams was expected to be a major contributor to the Fighting Irish offense this season and he lived up to the billing against the nation’s 25th-best run defense from last year.
The junior running back excelled on the ground, rushing 19 times for 161 yards and two touchdowns. As if he wasn’t enough for Temple to handle, fellow junior Dexter Williams put together an eye-popping stat line of 124 yards and a touchdown on just six carries. Nope, that’s not a typo. He averaged 20.7 yards per touch.

The Fighting Irish may be playing a better defense, on paper, in Week 2, but are the Bulldogs truly prepared for the Notre Dame attack? The Bulldogs did halt the talented Jalin Moore of Appalachian State — holding him to just 38 yards — but Adams and Williams are a different beast.
Moreover, Brandon Wimbush adds a running element to the quarterback position and that will keep the Bulldogs on their toes all game long. Notre Dame had 422 rushing yards in the opening game, including three 100-yard rushers. Georgia won’t be able to stop that.
