After a wild Week 1, every Pac-12 football team but one is 1-0 in the standings. Which five programs will be on upset in their Week 2 showdowns?

In Week 1, the biggest upset alert was one that seemed the most implausible. Western Michigan put USC on the ropes for much of their game on Saturday, but eventually fell 49-31. Clay Helton’s crew raised plenty of reason for skepticism about the Trojans this year, and Week 2 could yield more danger for the preseason Pac-12 South favorites.

After a long opening week of football action, every team in the Pac-12 is one win closer to bowl eligibility. Oregon State lost its Week 0 opener against Colorado State, but rebounded against FCS Portland State to join all the other 1-0 teams in the league with a notch in the win column.

Things get harder this week for Pac-12 teams, though. Three programs — Oregon State, Stanford, and Arizona schools — enter Week 2 as underdogs. Two FCS games are unlikely to feature betting lines, though that could begin to change after Howard’s landmark upset of UNLV.

That leaves just seven contenders for the list of top five teams on upset alert. As a 34.5-point favorite, Colorado looks like the team least in danger of collapsing this weekend. The only real question is whether they manage to cover a five-touchdown spread.

Arizona State, on the other hand, would be the least surprising to see fall. Their opponent, San Diego State, is a two-time defending SEC champ. So click ahead to read more about the five Pac-12 teams that will need to remain on upset alert lest they fall into a trap in Week 2 action on Saturday.
