SEC football kicked off in style with the usual suspects like Alabama, Auburn and LSU dominating. Here are our Week 2 SEC power rankings.

The first week of SEC football proved pretty much what we all knew, which is that the conference is still strong. Granted, most teams played what most fans would deem cupcakes but still, the SEC looked good for the most part.

Then there is Florida and Texas A&M. Both teams were ranked fifth and eighth respectively in our week one rankings, but that will change. Florida once again has a defense but no offense (should we call it the Tebow Curse?). Ever since Tim Tebow left for the NFL, the Gators have struggled mightily at the position. That said, Florida was missing 10 players due to suspensions so we should get more of a read on them in week two.

One of the bright spots for opening week belongs to the offense of LSU, Ole Miss and Missouri. LSU thoroughly dominated BYU and Danny Etling looked very efficient behind center. Ole Miss got off to a hot start thanks to quarterback Shea Patterson and wide receiver A.J. Brown, who set a school record with 233 yards receiving in the game against South Alabama. Missouri finally looks to have an offensive attack, their competition was weak in Missouri State but it was good to see Drew Lock in command of the offense.

How have I gone this long into this without talking about the biggest game of the week between Florida State and Alabama? Probably because the Tide did exactly what I expected, which was to dominate. Nothing new there, as Alabama is once again the cream of the crop in the conference. Let’s dig into the rankings.
