ACC football has some of its best programs in competition in Week 2 of the 2017 season with some of them being on upset alert.

The ACC got mixed results in Week 1. Its highest ranked team, the Florida State Seminoles, lost their start quarterback Deondre Francois for the entire season with a knee injury. That injury in combination with their loss to No. 1 Alabama nearly bounced them from the top 10.

The Clemson Tigers are now the favorite in the ACC. Louisville, Virginia Tech, and Miami will be hard charging for the top spot in the conference. Clemson’s Week 1 victory over the Kent State Golden Flashes was by a large margin but was nothing special overall.

Virginia Tech notched themselves the biggest victory for any ACC team last week. The Hokies took down No. 22 West Virginia in a thriller in Landover, MD, at the home of the Washington Redskins. They’ll be a tough out for anyone right now.

It’s time for some of the middle tier teams in the ACC to step up. The NC State Wolfpack had a chance to establish themselves with a very talented defense. However, that big chance came against the South Carolina Gamecocks in Week 1. NC State fell just short by one touchdown.

The Boston College Eagles, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Duke Blue Devils, and Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets look like they could knock upset some top teams this year. Georgia Tech had a big chance last week but fell short by a two-point conversion against the No. 25 ranked Tennessee Volunteers.

Now, let’s take a look at five ACC teams on upset alert in Week 2.
