The Arkansas football program has their first chance at notching a big victory this week against the TCU Horned Frogs from the Big 12.

The Arkansas Razorbacks had an easy matchup in Week 1 against the Florida A&M Rattlers. Sophomore running back Devwah Whaley had a good game. However, true freshman Chase Hayden was even better.

Arkansas has the potential for one of the deepest backfields in the SEC. We’ll find out how good their running backs actually are this week when the Razorbacks host the No. 23 ranked TCU Horned Frogs at home.

Quarterback Austin Allen didn’t have a great outing in Week 1. He completed 14 of his 19 passing attempts for 135 yards and one touchdown. But, he also threw one interception. Allen was a quarterback prone to throwing interceptions than most in college football last year.

The Florida A&M victory signified a few things for the Razorbacks. The main thing is that they have a rushing attack that can carry the offense. Star senior receiver Jared Cornelius needs to have a bigger role this week as he only caught one pass for six yards.

South Carolina transfer running back David Williams led the Razorbacks in receiving yards last week with 48. Williams proved to be a great compliment to both Hayden and Whaley in the backfield. He’s more versatile and provides a good change of pace.

This is by far the toughest non-conference matchup of the season for Arkansas. The other two teams on the schedule outside of the SEC are Florida A&M and the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. This is Arkansas’s best chance to prove themselves outside of SEC competition and really establish a reputation before facing the Texas A&M Aggies in the conference opener.

Now, let’s take a look at five reasons the Arkansas Razorbacks will defeat the TCU Horned Frogs in Week 2.
